Seranin’s Motera™ introduces a robust method for business process modeling, process integration and real-time business process measurement. Motera employs intuitive, graphically rich, easy-to-learn and easy-to-use modeling tools, complete with simulation capability and activity-based cost estimation. Motera gives companies the ability to combine processes from heterogeneous applications into a single process view and then to measure the efficiency of that process using industry standard key performance indicators or KPIs. This ability to model processes using real business data, to measure process performance in real-time and then to make those measurements immediately available to ERP, CRM, Supply Chain, Financial, Business Intelligence and Digital Dashboard applications represents a powerful way to make company processes more visible, more comprehensible, more flexible, and more efficient.

The software consists of three components: Motera Workbench, Motera Process Monitor and Motera Process Engine.

Motera Workbench operates on an independent platform with a repository of process models that help visualize a business process domain. As a desktop application that visuall y captures business process information, Motera Workbench models a process, then simulates and analyzes the process. Motera Workbench provides the tools for capturing application data at its source, describing that data in relation to other applications using a business process model and then configuring a network to view the process in real-time. This approach allows rapid switching from an analytical phase to an execution phase by dynamically capturing and presenting all enterprise data for analysis. By decreasing the time needed to implement business process measurement strategies, Motera Workbench can be used as an effective risk management tool.

Motera Process Monitor uses Motera’s API’s and services to monitor the state of business processes in real-time. Motera Process Monitor shows process flows and their associated metrics in real-time. These metrics can be viewed as overall totals or averages as well as measurements of individual transactions.  

Motera Process Engine, Motera’s third component, is the heart of the Motera product line. Motera Process Engine interoperates with existing enterprise applications to provide them with real-time business process performance measurements. Business users have the option of interacting with the Motera Process Engine using their existing applications or by using the thin client provided by Motera Process Monitor. Motera Process Engine provides a rich set of API’s and services that can be used to integrate Motera's real-time process measurement capabilities with any application.
